PlayZone is our award winning childrens soft play facility which is located on the first floor level of The Custom House which is accessible by lift or stairs. Our large 3 level Softbrick™ play structure has capacity for up to 70 children and is packed with an exciting range of adventure play activities, providing fun for ages 2 to 8yrs (height restriction applies at 1.5m). Please note: parent / guardian remains responsible for their children at all times. On entry the parent/guardian is required to sign in, accepting our “Rules of Play”. Rules of Play
PlayZone is suitable for children to age 8 years and under 4’9” or 145cm in height. All children must be signed in by a responsible adult over 18 years old. By signing adults are agreeing to abide by these rules of play.
Supervision All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, over the age of 18, who must remain within the building at all times. PlayZone does not accept responsibility for the supervision of children. Only children who are under 4’9” or 145cm in height may play. Older children, over the height limit are not allowed in the structure to play or supervise. Parents / guardians must:
- Accept full responsibility to supervise their children at all times
- Observe their children to ensure that they are capable of using the equipment safely
- Explain these rules of play to the children and monitor their behaviour.
We advise that children under 4 using the main play structure are accompanied by an adult.
Children should use the toilet and wash their hands before entering the play area.
Clothing SHOES MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE PLAY AREA. SOCKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES, BY BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
Children and adults are advised to wear long trousers and long sleeved shirts on the play equipment, to minimise risk of personal injury. Clothes should be tucked in at all times. Clothes with ropes and cords should not be worn in the play area.
Leave badges and jewellery with a responsible adult. Spectacles should only be worn if used with a retainer and shatter proof lenses.
Behaviour Balls or other objects must not be thrown at each other.
Fighting, bullying, abusive, aggressive, or any type of behaviour deemed to be unsuitable towards PlayZone Staff, management, or other members of the public, from either children or adults, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Management reserve the right to enforce total bans.
Report any behavioural concerns to a member of staff. Don’t attempt to intervene yourself.
Timing Play is restricted to 90 minutes during busy times.
Safety For their safety, we ask that you ensure your children do not climb the slides, or play in front of the slide exits.
No sharp objects may be taken into the play area (adults – check your pockets!)
It is forbidden to climb on the netted walls or the system structure.
Report all accidents to a member of staff, to ensure that we can provide any necessary assistance and minimise the potential of re occurrence These will be logged and are an important part of on-going safety audits.
Please report any damage to PlayZone property to a member of staff.
Children who are unwell, or who have been unwell, should not visit the centre for at least 48 hours. Children who become unwell in the centre, must leave the centre immediately.
Food & Drink No food or drink items are allowed on any of the play equipment. Chewing gum is strictly prohibited in the building
No food or drinks can be consumed in the centre, unless purchased from the café. However, it is permitted to bring food and drink for babies under 1 year.
In the interests of Health and Safety, please ensure that any food debris which falls on the floor is picked/wiped up as soon as possible. Report any spillages to a member of staff.
General Nappy changing and the use of potties etc. must be conducted in the family toilet. Please ensure all nappies are placed in the correct bin provided.
Any toilet accidents must be reported to reception immediately.
Security We suggest that you leave all valuables at home. We provide a few small lockers, but cannot accept liability for any loss or theft that may occur.
Close the gate on entering or leaving PlayZone.
Management reserve the right to refuse entry.
CCTV operates in PlayZone for the purposes of crime prevention and as an aid to supervision.
Parents/Guardians should note that whilst every consideration has been given for the safety of children using the play centre, PlayZone cannot be held responsible for accidents which occur as a result of children playing on the equipment! We use “BS 8409 Fully Enclosed Play Facilities” as a key safety reference document and an extract from this is available on our website

The Gem Den
Dig to find the buried treasure and keep the precious gems that you find, only £1.50pp (ask at reception for availability) or £1.20pp as a party add on.
Bear Building
Choose from a range of cuddly animals, stuff them, name them and fill out their birth certificate. Once you have your new friend you can dress them in a wide variety of outfits. We will be holding regular sessions at £12.95 in addition to party packages.
PlayZer
PlayZer is our fun filled junior laser tag game held within the padded PlayZone structure, take aim at your friends as you blast them with state of the art phasers. Come along to our weekly Blasters sessions, every Thursday 5pm, for only £6.50 or have an exclusive action packed party for you and your friends.
Health & Safety
Every morning before we open we carry out a thorough structure safety inspection. Every week we clean and sanitise all structure surfaces to keep things fresh and hygienic. We deal with toilet accidents when they happen, if this is in one of the ball pools it will be completely emptied, sanitised and every ball cleaned and dried before putting back into use. We know not all operators are this meticulous but health and hygiene matter to us.

Just had my childrens birthday parties in playzone at the weekend had a joint party for my 7 and 4 yr old and they both felt special it was brillient staff so helpful and friendly reasonable price to didnt have to lift a finger welldone and thank you very much will deffiantely be using you again
My grandaughter absolutely loves the playzone. It is always clean and the staff aver always very welcoming. Every time we’ve bee nmy grandaughter has had her face painted – very good value for a £1.00. We will definitely be there again soon and have recommended it to our friends.
when i take my 2 year old niece here she absolutely loves it!!she never wants to leave!the facilities that are available are very clean and just overall outstanding,i recommend playzone to anybody!also if you are cautious of your little child going in the play area by themselves,you can always go in with your child, which is magnificent,also the staff are always full of smiles and are always co-operative with you and your children making you feel welcome.
Excellent Facilitys. I truely enjoyed my time at the Custom house and i will bring my friends here to play when Im not doing homework.
I would just like to say, that my little boy has had an amazing week this week ( fun week). There has been so much for him and children of all agaes and abilities to do, all of the staff work amazingly and are very dedicated and always very approachable and full of smiles.
